Kissing Competition in Seoul
Supposedly, there was meant be a Kissing Competition held in Gwanghwamun on the 6th of December 2014, however, due to some unforeseen circumstances, the organizers were forced to cancel the event.
Previously according to the event host Park Jung Il, he said that “The competition is fierce, and it’s really taking place,” he even added that many people have been asking about the validity of this event.
According to Park, there were 200 people who had already registered for the event, and even said that everyone was welcome to participate in this smooching contest, even single individuals were welcome too, though not sure how to accommodate for the singles.
What was the Prize like?
The winner was actually meant be taking home about 1 million won prize money. To win that, you need to keep your lips sealed to each other at any point of time. Even though some of you might encounter some yucky substances that come rolling down your nose, which may happen if the weather is too cold or anyone of you caught a flu, nonetheless, you have to lock your lips together! And the last one standing will walk away with 1 million won.
The purpose of this event is to shift the focus of the younger generations, or nowadays maybe even some elderly generations, away from too many online activities such as social networking or games towards their loved ones, as well as creating some great memories between couples.
Do you know that the longest kiss lasted for 58 hours 35 minutes and 58 seconds? Last year, an event organized by Ripley’s Believe It or Not! was held in Pattaya, Thailand which was achieved by Ekkachai Tiranarat and Laksana Tiranarat whom took away a cash prize and two diamond rings, and the most valuable prize is, of course another Guinness World records title.
